All My Day Jobs

A comedy about misery

Picture
Have you ever been served by an incompetent waitress?
Pestered by a telemarketer? Disconnected by an office temp?
Most likely you have encountered a person with a day job, maybe an actor. Perhaps this one.

ALL MY DAY JOBS chronicles the journey of Kirsty, a hopeful and inventive young actress as she tries her best at dozens of day jobs:
temp, taxi counter, tourist greeter, food taster, perfume spritzer, enumerator, carny, dancing cocktail waitress . . . dancing cocktail waitress??
Her multiple attempts to fake it in the real world bring disastrous, hilarious results.

a solo show written and performed by Kirsten Van Ritzen             Directed by Ian Ferguson           Sound Design by Alexander Brendan Ferguson

" Every new adventure in abasement is presented with wit and charm, in a show that’s lovingly staged by an obviously wicked talented actress.  The laughs are plentiful, with the odd jolt of jarring reality, as Kirsten watches her childhood friend forge ahead with a dream life, and she can only move on to the next temporary gig, a life of endless searching, as she so aptly describes it.  The whole otherwise hilarious show is given a lovely, bittersweet aftertaste that reminds us this isn’t just a goof of a show…it’s life for a lot of actors.  Most of them, even.  And it’s wonderful to have it presented to us by such a great performer in such a killer play. " ~ Kevin Reid, The Visitorium (2011 Review)
